EPFO Claim Status: Track Your PF Claim Online

Filed a PF withdrawal and wondering where your money is? Every online claim gets a claim ID, and the EPFO member portal lets you follow that claim through each processing stage — from submission to settlement. This guide shows you how to track it, what each status means, and what to do when things go wrong.

⚠️ Independent guide — not the EPFOUANHelp.in is not affiliated with the EPFO. Track claims only on the official member portal (unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in). Never share your claim ID, UAN or OTP with strangers.

What is claim tracking?

When you submit a PF claim (Form 19, 31 or 10C), EPFO's system assigns it a unique claim ID and moves it through internal stages: receipt, verification of your KYC and service details, approval, and finally payment to your bank account. The tracking page shows the claim's current stage plus any remarks from the processing office — it is the fastest way to know whether your claim is moving, stuck, or rejected.

How to track your claim — overview

Log in to the member portal

Open unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in and log in with your UAN and password.

Open Online Services → Track Claim Status

The tracking section lists your recent claims. Select the claim (or enter the claim ID you saved at filing).

Read the status and remarks

Note the current stage and any remarks. Remarks often name the exact problem when a claim is held up — read them carefully before acting.

✅ Save your claim IDNote it down (or screenshot it) the moment you file. Without it, tracking and grievance follow-ups get much harder.

Status stages explained

  • Submitted / received — your claim reached EPFO's system. Nothing to do yet.
  • Under process — an officer is verifying your KYC, service record and bank details. This is where most of the waiting happens.
  • Approved / settled — the claim is approved and payment initiated to your registered bank account. Money usually arrives within a few working days.
  • Rejected — the claim was turned down. The remarks field states why — fix the cause and re-file.
  • Returned for correction — EPFO needs something fixed (often a document or detail). Correct it promptly so the claim resumes.

If your claim is rejected

Don't re-file blindly — read the rejection reason first. The usual culprits:

  • KYC issues — unverified Aadhaar, name/DOB mismatch, or bank details not approved. See our KYC guide.
  • Date of exit missing — your employer hasn't marked your exit date in EPFO records. Ask HR to update it.
  • Wrong form — e.g. filing Form 19 while still employed, or before completing two months out of the job.
  • Bank mismatch — the account on the claim doesn't match the verified bank in KYC.

Fix the underlying issue, wait for the correction to reflect (KYC reverification, employer updates), then file a fresh claim.

If your claim is delayed

EPFO's stated service standard is settlement within 20 days of a complete claim. If yours is older with no status movement:

  • Check the remarks on the tracking page for hidden holds.
  • Confirm your KYC is fully verified and your employer filed up-to-date records.
  • Raise a grievance on EPFO's official grievance portal (EPFiGMS), quoting your UAN and claim ID.
